The BBL treatment itself is non-invasive and offers minimal discomfort. After applying a cool gel to the treatment area, your aesthetician will gently touch the smooth, glass surface of the handpiece to the skin to deliver light in precise pulses across the treatment area. The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin, stimulating your skin cells to regenerate.
At North we offer two types of BBL laser treatments:
Forever Young BBL
Using broad spectrum light to stimulate new collagen production, this skin renewal treatment smooths out fine lines and wrinkles, tightens loose skin, and reduces the appearance of sun damage and other signs of aging.
Forever Clear BBL
A non-invasive acne treatment that uses the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear active acne, cystic acne, and any post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that is left behind by acne breakouts.
The level of discomfort from BBL varies from person to person, however it is typically very minimal. You can expect anything from a feeling of warmth to a sensation like the snap of a rubber band on your skin.The good news is that BBL treatments are generally quick, so any feelings of discomfort subside quickly.
Your BBL treatment time will vary depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of the procedure performed (some areas may only take a few minutes and others a half hour). We always allot 15 minutes after the treatment for post-care discussion and check-in.
During your consultation, we will create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and desired outcome. Desired results typically come from 3 to 5 treatments at 4-6 week intervals, although the number of treatments needed will vary from person to person.
We recommend coming in for a BBL treatment every 4-6 weeks for beautiful and consistent results (this is where our packages really come in handy!).
BBL treatments require little downtime. Your face may appear red or flushed immediately afterwards, which usually fades within a few hours. Individuals with prominent pigmentation may notice that brown areas become temporarily darker, lightly scabbing and peeling off in 10-14 days. Makeup may be applied immediately after your treatment to cover any bruising or redness and you can return to your daily activities.
